Episode 10 | feat. Sarah Gardner

“MY WHY TO TAKE CARE OF MY DAD, MY YOUNG FAMILY, & MY BUSINESS.”

It’s a topic a lot of us dread as we get older and that is the possibility of our parents’ health decreasing as they age. Fitness Trainer, Sarah Gardner brings us all her motivation and positive attitude as she shares what it’s like to care for her dad after a massive stroke when her twin babies were just 2 years old.

Highlights from our conversation:

“What keeps you motivate to keep showing up?”

Sarah: It all comes down to habits. I’ve learned that having those habits set me up for success for the days, the weeks, the years. Our intentions can easily get pushed aside if we aren’t careful in forming solid habits.

Sarah: These are the cards I was dealt. How are we going to make the best of this instead of “this is so hard”.

Truly, your why for anything needs to be so deep to get you where you want to go. If you’re struggling with motivation in your life, you need a deeper why.

Most people who go through these things with their parents don’t have a young family. I had to figure out how to set up boundaries so I wouldn’t let my priorities crumble.
